The Wild Butcher

Hello and welcome to The Wild Butcher. We are a small family business based in Rendcomb, Cirencester and we produce a number of wild game products, using mainly Wild venison and pheasant, all sourced from the local countryside.


Alex has been a gamekeeper locally and further a field for almost 20years and as part of his job has been heavily involved in controlling the deer population. 

Claire has always had a passion for cooking and using good quality ingredients and has always wanted to try making her own sausages. 

We have always butchered deer for ourselves, producing roasting joints, cubes and mince but a few years ago we decided to give sausage making a go. We purchased a small sausage machine and practiced and practiced and handed them out to family and friends to try and give feedback until we perfected our recipe. After that we began experimenting with different flavor combinations and also making burgers.


At this point we had lots of family and friends wanting to buy our product and recommending us to others so we decided to become official and at the start of 2022 ‘The Wild Butcher’ was born. Since then we have been supplying all our loyal family and friends with delicious high quality wild meat products, local shoots with sausages and burgers to feed their hungry staff and guests on shoot days and are beginning to branch out in to selling to people in the local area.


We produce raw products available both fresh and frozen and our ranges tend to change slightly throughout the year due to wild game seasons and availability but venison is available all year round. We only use the best cuts of meat even in our sausages and mince, which traditionally use the cheaper cuts, as we believe that the product is only as good as the quality of ingredients that go into making it. Anything we would not want to eat ourselves we keep for our dogs.
